Our Story
My name is Deshauntia Benn, and before Dimensions I dedicated my life to advocacy in public education, community organizing, and racial and social justice. For years, I fought to make schools and systems more equitable, ensuring that Black voices, families, and children were seen, valued, and uplifted. That work shaped me, but it also showed me how deeply change is needed in every space we occupy. Eventually, I left my job to do the work that mattered most to me: building something that directly impacts my community, protects our health, and honors our legacy.
Dimensions was born out of both loss and rebirth. In 2018, I lost my son, the heartbeat of my world. Through grief, I would often write, βI love you beyond Dimensions.β When it came time to start again, to create something new that honored him and carried his spirit forward, I knew the name had already been written in my heart: Dimensions.
This business is not just about products, it is about transformation. Dimensions became my new beginning, a testimony to resilience, and a space where love, healing, and community converge.
I am also a uterine cancer survivor. My battle was personal, but it was not mine alone. Like so many Black women, I learned that the very relaxers and hair products marketed to us since childhood were laced with toxins. Products we were told would make us βbeautifulβ were silently killing us. That awakening fueled my mission. I refuse to let our beauty come at the cost of our health, and I am committed to educating, protecting, and empowering our community.
At Dimensions, we celebrate beauty without compromise. We curate products that are holistic, safer, and aligned with our well-being, while still honoring our style, creativity, and cultural expression. We are not just here to sell, we are here to shift the narrative, challenge the industry, and give our people healthier, more conscious choices.
Why support us? Because every purchase is more than a transaction. It is an act of love, legacy, and liberation. When you shop at Dimensions, you are joining a movement rooted in truth, resilience, and community. You are helping rewrite the story for Black women, men, and families everywhere.
Dimensions is the plug for beauty, for culture, for health, for us.
